My Website

I hope everyone is doing ok. 🙂 I know I haven’t been on much. I have been taking on other endeavors. I created my own website which features original poetry, a short story, and some sermons that I did. I hope this will inspire and if you are interested, I invite you to check it out here: https://www.carlyswritingsandteachings.com/. Also, I’m accepting donations to help support my friend Stephanie, who is undergoing breast cancer treatments. If you like to find out more, click here: https://www.carlyswritingsandteachings.com/donate. All the donations will go towards her treatments. You can donate through PayPal.

Sincerely,

Carly

Senses

1F6A1CCC-6446-4814-877F-71DAA91A0805

Like ribbons of sound waves

That echo in your mind

Vibrations of noise resonate with me

Sight is a beautiful display of colors and shapes

Do you see the color red as I do?

I’ll never know if you see the tone as I do

I am aware of many textures around me

From the lumpy dirt to the soft sand

Or the sun on my skin or the cool snow

I smell the goodness around me

Roses and warm apple pie

They excite the receptors

I can taste the ice cream cones

As I get to the tasty chocolate end of the cone

These senses are unique and serve a purpose

Highways of Your Heart

A6FD25AC-66DD-45E4-B7C9-FCE191E00BFE

Feeling sorrow

About tomorrow

So many questions

About others intentions

Like a dusty mirror in a car

Is your self-image ajar?

Traveling to the nearest state

In hopes of a blank slate

You can cruise the highways

Or pass oceans and bays

Through sunny weather

But will this make you better?

Travel the highway of your heart

Each chamber is a good place to start

At first, the path may be slow

But you’ll know where to go

Summer Rain Love

summer rain 2

The summer rain

Bringing in the heat

Showering the plants and flowers

But I could stay on this patio for hours

Looking into your eyes

You are my summer rain love

You are refreshing my soul

Like the Word of God

With your rejuvenating soul

Your presence makes me whole

I smell the crisp vegetation bloom

After you “rained”  in my heart

How Can I?

Leaves

I ask if you love them
You say, “How can I?”
“I am only human”
But we are called to a higher place
To love everyone

I ask if you felt whole by them
You say, “How can I?”
They always get under someone’s skin
But we are to look into our own eyes
And pull out the planks

People change like every season
Broken promises like leaves
Fall like Mother Nature teasin’
We crush them with our feet
And walk forward

Where’s peace and justice?
I am not really sure
I just see evil persist
But when the leaves fall
They will return to the Earth

The Seam is Bursting

seam splitting

The trees retire their leaves

My spirit grieves

I know they will be back

Like paved gravel

The workers lay the ground work

But my day’s plans unravel

Do not hold on too tightly

The breeze doesn’t blow slightly

The kite will blow away

Leaving that little child in dismay

I am a child at heart

Immature and naive from the start

I’ve been told children will inherit paradise

But I’m acting like I already attained the prize

If you shake me

Please don’t forsake me

I don’t always dot my I’s

Even with all these misfortunes

But I am thrilled

The enemy is being stilled

The seam is bursting with a gift inside

I need a new awakening

When the new day is aching

It’s aching like a bruise

I know I cannot lose

Destructive Black and White Thinking

4DE8EB5C-BBDE-418E-B739-F1EE0D0F40A9

I can’t form my own opinions
You told me everything you felt
There are hierarchy thoughts
Some fester into wounds
Some dissolve and like ice melt

What if you are wiser than I?
Am I bad person for thinking differently?
This deceiving serpent comes crawling
According to you, I am intellectually naive
At a train station and stalling
I have lukewarm plans and I’m wasting your time

If you are right
That this world is miserable place
And everyone is manipulative
Give me a new reality
I don’t want to live
You are as cold as your thoughts

Your thoughts may be your fears
I just know for sure that I am scared
But you are so oblivious
That by downsizing my heart vision, it’s impaired
Thank you, I have a missing heart valve now

My black and white thinking is so bad
It consist of no color, only patterns
You poured your red blood on my shade
You made a sacrifice with an ace and king of spade
Was it a real inconvenience for you?

The Rooms

hallway-and-doors

In the halls of discontentment

In the crowded spaces of resentment

Are these cloth coverings of protection?

Because of our wounds of rejection?

We are all mummied up

Spilling this blessed cup

Blocking our vision because of these cloths

We are could-have-been-butterflies moths

When will we allow our ugliness to shine?

That’s where mess and glory allow the stars to align

Nature Blues

EEAD1E04-E354-4A7F-8EE8-39500C7C2B9D.jpeg

The rivulet caressingly moves through the banks

While the brooks ebbs through the meadows

The river moves through the rocks

While the veins in my heart flows

There are highs and lows

Like the enchanting valleys

Or the mountains with dust of snows

I want a life like nature

Purposeful and serene

But the blood veins of my heart get stuck

And my bones are gettting lean

And I feel sickly with a face that’s green

I need destiny once again

A hope that’s rising like I’ve never seen
